About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled and experienced TechOps Engineer who will complement and bolster our current team. You will be a key member of the TechOps team and work collaboratively across Reading Room, and the Rippleffect Group, as we build velocity to enable our core services to deliver 24/7 services to our global clients. It is an exciting time to join us as we continue to establish global presence beyond our current locations in Hong Kong, USA, Europe (Germany and Portugal) and the UK.
This role will be the first TechOps role in the region and initially be stand-alone, supported by the wider TechOps Team. Project leadership, self-motivation and collaboration will be essential skills. As we grow the team, there will be the opportunity to mentor and guide junior TechOps Support.
You will get to explore new technology and influence our ways of working within our collaborative environment, you will learn from our existing team while also being able to contribute your own ideas to help us progress and innovate.

About you
This is a key hire for our business, and we’re absolutely determined to seek out the very best Tech Ops Engineer to enhance the skills our existing team has.
This position will be to assist the Tech Ops team with hosting operations and related departmental projects. This could entail designing, building, and maintaining hosting environments. The role also may require the successful candidate to participate in an on-call rota.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Windows Server & IIS
- 2 years’ Linux experience
- Apache / Nginx configuration
- LAMP configurations
- 2 years of AWS and/or Azure* experience
- DNS management experience
- A strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a 24/7 support environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledgeable in computer applications, internet, troubleshooting and networking.
- Fast learner and can work with minimum supervision.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience operating in a similar role
Desired Skills
- Architecting and building complex web hosting
- Knowledge & use of Cloudflare or other CDN providers
- Knowledge & use of Datadog & its toolset
- Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket)
- Drupal / WordPress / Umbraco or other technologies PHP, .NET
- Azure / AWS Automation tools
- Database management
- Understanding cybersecurity threats and mitigations
Specific Responsibilities
- Liaising with project management teams and clients using a ticket system, emails and phone calls.
- Providing technical support and recommendations.
- Producing documentation for other team members to utilise.
- Monitoring & maintaining systems security, performance, and availability.
- Assisting with the deployment & migration of websites and applications.
- Assisting department with internal projects.
About the Tech Ops Team
The Team is headed by the Head of Technical Operations and comprises a team of dedicated professionals and support engineers working from our UK (London and Lancaster) offices. We are actively looking to enhance our existing resource by recruiting engineers who can join the team and provided dedicated support in additional time zones.
Location
This role will work remotely until we establish a permanent presence in the Philippines, likely to be Makati District of Manila.
We are keen to support work/life balance and promote hybrid working. We encourage our associates to spend at least three days in an office per week in accordance with business need.
